Child Sponsorship

I feel strongly about finding ways to support children who are fighting poverty, hunger and disease. Child Sponsorship is a simple but powerful way to offer your support. I highly recommend signing up as a child sponsor. Not only does it dramatically improve the life of the child, his or her family and community, but it will also change your life as you correspond with the child through a child sponsorship organization.

There are two child sponsorship organizations that I can personally recommend.

Threshold Ministries, Inc. is a small Christian organization in Central California. I met Threshold while working at a theater out there and have been sponsoring kids through them for a few years. They support people living the area in and around Linjiang, China, an area of extreme poverty. If you really want a personal connection with an organization and the opportunity to be closely involved with this process Threshold is great because of it's size and focus on that one area of China. Also 100% of your donations will go to the child and his or her family.

World Vision is an incredibly powerful, huge and remarkably organized non-profit with offices all over the world. Based out of Seattle, this group is able to get things done raising millions of dollars for disaster relief, community building and family support.
